ORIGIN STORY
Alastar Education is an early stage company founded by Ben Manley (CEO) and Tim Eaton (CFO), two young entrepreneurs who already have success in creating game play that users love.
Ben founded his first company while he was still in college. His goal with TwoSqd was to build and market a video game, discover exactly what kids are interested in, and gain the experience to start and grow his next company. But the game shot up to the #1 ranked app in the UK, with 110 thousand users in the first 3 days.
Ben brought in Tim as CFO to help manage the TwoSqd’s rapid success. After Ben graduated from college, the two set out to build a company with a broader vision—develop and market game technology that transforms education by making learning fun and relevant.
That company is Alastar Education. The name is a compound of Greek words and means defender or helper of mankind, which is exactly what Ben and Tim are setting out to do.
Scott McDonnell, a teacher who shares the Alastar vision, has joined the team as acting CCO. He is helping build out the curriculum requirements for Alastar solutions and provide access to school district decision-makers.
As Scott puts it, “This is where I know I can have the greatest impact.”
